Mumei's Not So Scary Brain Game
A downloadable game for Windows
Traverse deep dark tunnels and investigate the mysterious disappearance of a local bunker owner, all under the loving watchful gaze of our ever faithful guardian of civilization. Do you have what it takes to unravel the mysteries and survive the many horrors of Mumei's Not So Scary Brain Game?
Please read known issues before playing
This game is a short parody of Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion featuring characters from Hololive, art by Nanashi Mumei, "boss battles" against Calliope Mori and Gawr Gura, and voice clips from many more Hololive talents.
This game is more of a collection of (now stale) memes than a real horror game. There was a lot more I wanted to do with it, but I just don't have time to keep going, and I didn't want to let it rot in my old projects folder. Perhaps it will make a nice baby horror game to finish out October?
The game is about 60 rooms long. If you just ran straight through it without looking at anything, you could clear it in around 12 minutes, but what fun would that be?
This game uses passwords as a save system - you don't need one to play. You can find checkpoint passwords written in the saferooms.
Controls
WASD moves, mouse looks around, F interacts with notes/doors/dialogue, esc pauses
Language Warning
Yes, Calli swears at you a lot.
Known Issues
- The loading screen doesn't load... if you hit play and "nothing happens" it is just loading in the game, and may take a moment
- The volume in the game pause menu does not let you click the sliders if they were dragged left. You can click on the bar to the right to jump them back up to drag down again, but be careful about your ears. Some of the voice clips are louder than others - start with lower volume in case.
- The volumes don't display their set values when you return to main menu
- Sometimes the text gets hidden behind objects in the game - you may need to look around a little to see it
- UI doesn't rescale to different resolutions properly
- Gura's area seems to lag sometimes
- Some parts of the rooms don't line up. Perhaps this is the real horror of the game.
- I forgot to make a quit button. You can either accept that Mumei has forever trapped you in this game, or you could just hit alt-f4 to get out.
